Note MeWhile browsing dA, I noticed an abundance of youthful men and boys, followed by the occasional elderly male. But what struck me as odd was the lack of middle-aged men. If there is one thing about a man that makes me fall in love is his smiling eyes. Someone can smile, but if their eyes don't, it is not a smile, just a twist of the facial muscles. While young guys are still learning the art of responsibility, and the elder ones are passing on to their descendants, it is the middle-aged man that shares a balance of vitality and responsibility. And while some regard themselves as "moving on" or "getting old", inherently suffering from a disease known as Midlife Crisis, there are those who seem to embrace the fact that they are caught in the center of a moment in time, and while they start to hear Death knocking on their door, they accept that Death is simply part of life. They still emanate with timeless vigor, but wise and calm. Then, when one these particular men catch my eye while passing them in day-to-day life, I see their soul radiating out towards me, and I respond with a mesmerized smile.
This feature is dedicated to the (seemingly) overlooked generation of men in their mid-thirties to early fifties.

There was one day recently when I went shopping, and as I was walking pushing my son's stroller, I passed a security guard who was just standing there, vigilantly watching the shoppers pass by. When I passed him, I saw that he had amazing eyes, with wonderful sharpness. He appeared to be between the ages of 45-50, and he nodded when I smiled at him. If I had brought a camera with me that day, I would have liked to have taken a photo of this individual, in hopes of sharing with you a piece of his soul.

Another note: I've added a widget on my page entitled "Music of the Week" for those of you who like to hear a sample of music (typically classical) from time to time. Thank you!
